Carmelo Patti: An Inspirational Beginning
Carmelo was born in Enna, Sicily, Italy. When he was one year old, he emigrated with his parents Giuseppe Patti and Sebastiana Bontempo to Argentina, like many other immigrants seeking new beginnings after World War II.
Growing Up Among Vineyards and Winemaking Dreams
From an early age, Carmelo immersed himself in agricultural and winemaking tasks thanks to his father, a farmer who made his own table wine at home. With this background rooted in the land and winemaking tradition, Carmelo began working in various wineries after completing his studies at the age of 19.
Carmelo's Innovative Vision: Extended Aging Wines
In 1986, at the age of 36, Carmelo embarked on a pioneering project: the production of extended aging wines. Recognizing the lack of wine aging culture in Argentina and worldwide, Carmelo was determined to change this perspective.
The Own Brand and the Unforgettable Venture in Perdriel.
In 1989, Carmelo materialized his vision with the launch of his first Cabernet Sauvignon under his own brand, producing 8 thousand bottles. This milestone marked the beginning of a lasting connection with the Perdriel region, in the heart of Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza, where Carmelo acquired his first grapes.
In 1990, Carmelo produced his first Malbec.
In 2002, he created his own blend, baptized as "Gran Assemblage".
Subsequently, in 2013, he produced Cabernet Franc for the first time.
Perdriel: The Essence of Our History
From that foundational moment until today, Bodega Carmelo Patti has produced its wines with grapes from Perdriel (Luján de Cuyo), a region recognized for the quality of its grapes which is reflected in the richness and complexity of our wines, creating a unique experience for those who appreciate excellence.
Legacy and Continuity: 34 Years of Quality
In 1998, he acquired his own winery, optimized for the production of his wines. Today, we celebrate 34 years of winemaking and aging, where quality is a priority. Carmelo maintains his philosophy of respecting the proper aging of wine to offer it at its optimal consumption point.
